  •  At times dissent is the mark of the true patriot, (9+ / 0-)

and I believe this to be the case with Snowden

We're shocked by a naked nipple, but not by naked aggression.

    •  I just find it ironic (8+ / 0-)

On the same site we have people calling for massive change and "waking up the people" , when someone actually does something to wake people up it's OH NOES HE BROKE A LAW!!

Not that the banks, Congress, the Oil Companies, Monsanto, Big Pharma et al don't break laws EVERY DAMN DAY, that destroy the foundation  of the country.

Nope never happens. Of course they can't break the laws that they have their pet congresspeople write can they?

      (sigh)

THis is WHY we will NEVER NEVER NEVER get a progressive president. Progressives are fair weather purists it seems who can't see the big picture. They have no idea of how to actually use power. See the Howard Dean campaign and every single campaign of Kucinich and yes even the Devil Incarnate himself Ralph Nader. All three of those people Actually work for Progressive ideas, hell Ralph Nader's entire life was all about reining in the power of corporations and transparency. Yet of the three the only one that came close was Dean, who the left pretty much abandoned when the media played hardball and then Obama booted him from the DNC.

The left has no real commitment to it's beliefs, we need to take some pages from the right. They may be assholes but they know how to gain power and hold it.

... but, you know, it's election mode and all that, and we need to focus on electing Republicans who have a "-D" after their names.
