being a dick with the over-the-top insults in your own diaries. Hence my HR.

There was only one joker in L.A. sensitive enough to wear that scent...and I had to find out who he was!

    •  Thank you for the HR. It clearly shows who is (7+ / 0-)

      being over-the-top.

I've said this before... That I don't engage in "over-the-top" insults.

If I did, I would reply with something like this: "You can go fuck yourself, you fucking willfully-ignorant apologist."

But I don't.  And I will continue to do so... And please, do keep those HRs coming.  I see them as a badge of honor, when they come from people like you.

      HRing for disagreement is forbidden.

Both Snowden and Manning had dozens of avenues to blow the whistle.

They instead chose to violate their oaths and the law.

I, for one, will feel much safer when both are behind bars for the rest of their lives.

        you on those 'avenues."

Technically, they exist.  In practice, they don't exist.

Anyone who brings up any problem to management is going to get canned, whether the topic is suspicion of fraud, noncompliance with regulations, noncompliance with GAAP [accounting pronouncements], etc.

Whistleblowing provisions have been gutted by the courts; check with any employment lawyer who handles whistleblowing cases.

So, there were no 'avenues' for these guys, except for being imprisoned or fired.

They chose to go public - more power to them.

        •  Bullshit (0+ / 0-)

They exist. The reason they "don't exist" are because they are only for blowing the whistle on law violations or regulation violations.

They do not exist to reveal classified information about policies you disagree with, as in Snowden's case.

And Manning barely scratched the surface of his available avenues and instead decided to do a major document dump of classified information.

          Both deserve the DP, IMO.

with retaliation cases.  Go take a look at what happens to people who complain about anything going on.  Take a look at how the courts have overridden even the letter of the law when Congress has legislated protections against retaliation.

And I really like the way the anti-Snowden group sticks to its narrow interpretation of what is/is not legal, without getting into the larger issue of constitutionality of the regulation.
