  •  I wish I had some insight here (11+ / 0-)

I am also puzzled by the lack of pushback. We are deeply polarized but I also think that, as Giles said, the true depth of malfeasance doesn't get communicated and many have tuned out.

My work takes me to every corner of Wisconsin, and apart from discussions of politics, people are nice as a rule. But politics is an open sore - so we are careful not go there unless we have to.

I hope other Wisconsinites will weigh in because I'm curious myself.

    •  Milwaukee (12+ / 0-)

I live in Milwaukee, work at MPS, and am married to an African-American- everyone I talk to is extremely upset and would never think of voting for Walker-unfortunately I believe I am in a bubble but I do occasionally hear the obnoxiuous WGOP 620 and all callers are usually from the red ring outside of the city and they seem to uniformly love Walker and they will vote in 2014- If Republicans restrict early voting I am hoping that the city of Milwaukee will then open up satellite voting offices in all parts of the city but especially North and Northwest sides to get voter turnout to rival 2012 recall election where turn-out was very good.  I really don't think the candidate against Walker matters in my circle- we would vote for anyone who is running.  Would be curious as to general feelings around La Crosse, Eau Claire, and Appleton area.

    •  I see two dynamics: people either know nothing (7+ / 0-)

about the most egregious and disgusting THUGGERY of the ALEC-pimped ReTHUGlicans due to in-the-tank corporate media or informed people have simply steeled themselves to wait for the chance to try to vote out the bastards. I do not see resigned...I sense simmering anger....waiting to boil.

After all, Wisconsinites are sensible...based on what we have seen in the last 2.5 years, it's obvious that NOTHING will keep them from doing what they plan to do...they are intent on RULING not governing.  They have no sense of shame since their ends justify their means...they certainly have no sense of "fair play" that can be appealed to.

The opposition needs to be planting "seeds" with the uninformed who think they are informed...I am sad to say that I do not see an organized effort to do that.  I applaud the individual efforts of many who post here, but my concern about a state-wide effort grows as each month passes.

Robber Baron "ReTHUGisms": John D. Rockefeller -"The way to make money is to buy when blood is running in the streets"; Jay Gould -"I can hire one half of the working class to kill the other half."
