    I read a in couple of sources that Republicans prohibited amendments and Dems decided not to push back during the floor session.   I think they should have.

    There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

      They (Vos and Suder in particular) just made it very clear in meetings with the Democrats that no amendments would pass. Republicans were prepared for Democrats to offer amendments through the afternoon until 5:30, when they planned to take a vote regardless of how many amendments had been tabled.
