I'm from the town that Lum and Abner* are from, and grew up in the 1970s listening to their show on the radio at noon every day (right after Paul Harvey and the local news).  It's been increasingly difficult to find the old-time radio shows.... thank goodness for digital archives!

(*Lum and Abner were sort of "Mayberry" set in a small Arkansas town; the show took place in their Jot 'Em Down Store, which still exists.  They also made several movies in the 1940s and 50s.)

correctly (and often I don't) they lived in Pine ridge Arkansas.  There was another program like it featuring Uncle Ezra, real down home humor.  I loved both shows.
