Personally, I feel that Progressive values and policies better reflect the love that I was taught God wants us to share with our neighbors.  Most conservative Christians don't see that because they're locked into an "Us/Them" view that sees all Liberals as "Godless".  (There's more to it than that, but I want to keep this comment short.  Ha!)

When Paul preached to the Athenians, he started off by commending their own piety and by quoting their own philosophers.  And then he began connecting the ideas they were already familiar with to the new doctrine he wanted to teach.

In the same manner, if we want to persuade Religious Folk that our Progressive ideas are good ones, we need to start with the things they accept as True and Good and showing that the values we profess are not incompatable with Serving God.

This means talking to them in language they understand and respect.  This means talking to them in terms of the Bible.

And no, maybe we won't convince them.  Many of them have a lot of emotional investment in "God's Own Party".  But the Bible also tells us that "God's word does not return to him empty".  Or to put in more secular terms, even if we don't convince the bigoted next-door-neighbor to Vote Blue, we might expose him to ideas that might make him think and maybe even have an effect on his own beliefs.
