  •  I just bought a bigger purse (7+ / 0-)

Because my Kindle case didn't fit in my old one (it's hand made and larger than the store bought ones). So, when I go out my Kindle goes in there. Then I have my seal skin Kindle sleeve (in case it rains) in which resides my coin purse with my cards in it. I have female type supplies (adult and tween sized), a hair brush, a can of oxygen, my inhalers, my "portable pharmacy in a bottle", a small first aid kit (we walk everywhere, with kids and dog), a baggie of dog treats, a foldable water dish, pens and paper (kids again, plus, often useful) and an altoids minis can of guitar picks.
But I still have a LOT of room in my purse, and it's not very heavy even after I add my Kindle. If I have a hard copy book, it fits in easily unless it's a huge hard back.

So yesterday while we were at the library the house sprung a leak. One of the pipes under the second bathroom popped (to the point that you can pull the water pipe into the toilet out of the floor), so the maintenance guy is here now fixing it. Luckily that bathroom has a separate water shut off valve, so we still have water in the rest of the house. We had a river in the laundry room, but it went right out under the door to the outside, so no harm no foul other than our water bill is going to suck next month.

The kids and I managed to get most of the lawn done last night. It was nice to have that 'work accomplished' burn/exhaustion. I slept well. My knee isn't the happiest with me, but I figure it's going to bother me anyway, may as well not let it stop me from what I want to do.

    •  It seems that a rolling backpack would work too, (2+ / 0-)

with all the stuff you need.  I only carry one guitar pick!

I used to stuff a sandwich or other item in for lunch at work, but now, only the granola bar.  During the winter there is usually a bit of chocolate.

I try to keep it simple so there is room to add things when I go out, but I don't "download" the "collection" as often as I should.

My chiro wants me to keep my shoulder bag off my shoulder, so it is often in a cart or carried like a clutch.

Is too bulky to deal with, and doesn't work given that most of the time we go out I'm in the wheelchair. I used to use one when I was in college and carrying text books on the bus. This purse fits in my lap, and I usually lay it flat and Sophie lays on it.
