  •  Good catch. I see that now, but that's why I took (0+ / 0-)

it out to the absurd. The average phone call is just under 4 minutes not 60 (if you look for that down thread). That makes the average MP3 at 10:1 compression somewhere around 15mb probably give, no take. I calculated at 100 mb per call, I can still get under reality without getting my hair mussed.

You still make a good catch.

Ok, so let's double my 100 mg numbers. That's still a total of less than 82 Terabytes per year. A very doable number, but reality has it at a fraction of the number I originally posted.

Just the same, you are correct that my numbers posted are incorrect.

Listen, a math error is not big deal, you did the work to follow the trail and figure this out, and then made it clear enough for the DK Community to understand.

Well done. And, as we say around our house when one of us blows the math: "...and that's how you miss Mars!"

      •  You have no idea (0+ / 0-)

I live with a rocket scientist.  She said my math was good enough for both hand grenades AND horse shoes. There are some errors, but my estimates were 50% over or double and triple what really is collected,; so she let it slide.
