    Most health insurance plans don't cover any procedure that's not considered medically unnecessary. Unless a legislative body can enact changes in insurance coverage, the ultrasound would most probably not be covered by insurance. Unless the state is willing to pay for an unnecessary procedure that they've decided to mandate, the woman would be forced to not only endure the invasive procedure, but to pay for it as well.
