    and/or legal-aid assisted lawsuits?

    The minimum wage argument can be dragged out endlessly by reluctant legislators, so I don't hold out much hope for action in the current political environment.

    But wage theft and requiring work off-the-clock is different -- it's a blatant violation of current law, isn't it?  I'm not surprised to hear of that kind of abuse in some other states, but in New York?  Where's the state attorney general, the local prosecutors, the local legal-aid organizations?
