    the wind resource is good.  Unfortunately, the Old Confederacy, outside of Texas, is a "wind desert" where the wind resource is quite poor.  

    Their solar resouce is excellent, however.  

    Renewable energy brings national global security.

      Just not their own wind.

      Both Georgia (here) and Alabama (here) are buying wind produced from Oklahoma.

      Wind can be sent to the south easily from Oklahoma. One day from Texas, too, once they connect their grid to the rest of the country.
