I agree he would be a good candidate.

I reject the hysteria of saying "him or the end of America."

We have numerous good candidates. Hillary is not one of them, and I fail to understand how a place that has condemned President Obama way beyond what he deserves can be so rapturous about a candidate who, policywise, is virtually his twin.

I do not have the same pessimistic outlook the diarist has because once we believe our salvation depends on a single person, we ARE screwed. I believe that is part of what the outsized and unwarranted disillusionment with Obama is about: we wanted him to be a savior, and this is the real world.

We need to roll up our sleeves and get to work, as overwhelming as it seems and as comforting as the idea of a savior to do it for us is.

And NO, no Hillary 2016. Just no.

Don't mean to be hysterical, but the party has a huge problem.  The Third Way types have been in control for so long that they've become the norm, and it's no longer taken for granted that the Democrats are the party of the New Deal.  In fact, only a handful of prominent Democrats still stand for its principles.  Only a few!  Hillary Clinton isn't the only Democrat working against us here, there's Cuomo, there's Cory Booker (a nice guy, but so close to Wall Street that he makes President Obama look like Robert Reich), Feinstein, Durbin, Schumer, etc, etc, etc.

That's not to say that I wouldn't welcome Wyden, Merkley, Whitehouse, etc, as they'd all make great presidents.  I'd do a fucking backflip if Elizabeth Warren was president.  But I think that whoever we nominate, it NEEDS to be someone who will finally reverse this devastating course, because we've been going on borrowed time ever since the outsourcing really began decades ago.  And I'm simply arguing that Brown (and those who follow his lead in Congressional races) would be the most electable of those potential nominees.  Therefore, he's our best chance at saving our country.

      •  Sorry. I think perhaps you'll be overruled. (0+ / 0-)
