    It wasn't feasible to surveil vast tracts of humanity with a helicopter. It was feasible to use it to go after a bad guy.

    Much like the difference between a wiretap and current NSA electronic snooping.

    IIRC, you don't see much of a difference between those things though, so I'm not sure if it will be a persuasive argument to you.

      ...because they're certainly cheaper to own and operate.

      Some of the drone designs could wind up being almost permanently in place, like a light-pole camera that's a thousand feet in the air and orbiting permanently.

      They're already talking about antenna/repeater drones that fly in circles at 60,000 feet and serve to replace radio or teevee towers...

      I wonder how long before their control systems get hacked?
