I was mostly just trying to get people to reflect on how far away from liberalism this place has drifted.

      •  Interesting. I wouldn't have pegged that as (9+ / 0-)

your purpose, but ok. You might reflect on whether a barrage of the following phrases is likely to encourage reflection among your readers.

        - old people get stupid and complacent
        - empty theater of cargo cult progressivism
        - like teenagers who just need to huff and pout at Daddy
        - group thinkers
        - need the illusion of rebellion
        - bitter and fearful
        - bubble of denial

I know you're smart enough to know it won't draw in the people you think you're describing. Is it that you think it draws in a bunch of folks who share your views that everyone except themselves belongs to a "Chuck E. Cheese animatronic band of Infowars-like incoherent fear and hate columnists"? (I do love that, though. You are very creative.)

Seriously, voting rights are important. We share the same ultimate goals, but you're just dug in on a tactic that many here oppose and almost all know is not feasible.

While it's not the kind of site you're asking for here, you might spend some time on scotusblog or the volokh conspiracy. Scotusblog has an interesting post up about the "first Court-packing plan" during Lincoln's time, here, and on the immediate fight in Texas post Shelby County, if you want to see what some other voting rights activists are doing, here.

        •  Alright. (0+ / 0-)

Basically I'm just looking for people who are actually serious about voting rights, and don't just consider them a matter of intellectual interest like baseball statistics.
