That's where you can really make a difference, and that's where the right wingers (e.g., ALEC, the Koch brothers, the anti-choice people) are really pressing their agenda.  In Virginia this year, for instance, we have elections for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, and the entire House of Delegates.  If we can win those, we can not only stop Republicans from shutting down women's health clinics and persecuting climate scientists, we can advance a POSITIVE, PROGRESSIVE agenda on everything we care about. So...want to make a difference?  Get involved where the action is, and where you can really make a difference.  And no, making a difference does NOT include endlessly (and fruitlessly) debating whether Edward Snowden or Glenn Greenwald or good, bad, whatever. What matters is directed, focused, sustained progressive action at the state and local levels. But of course that takes work and all...can't have that! (snark)
