    That is to say, they do not want the system to work because they want to replace it. This is one possible explanation for why we never see these folks focus on persuasion, organization, or mobilization.

    Those that do, and are, working on the ground are seen as questionable or even willing tools of the corrupt system. I saw this first hand when trying to get Occupy people to join in registering voters.

    I too agree with the broader point the diarst makes. I also believe that when we tell people that Democrats are evil and corrupt we should not be surprised if they believe what they hear and vote Republican or stay at home and ratify the status quo which suits the predatory 1% just fine.

    The politicians may be bought, and the system corrupt, but it is our duty to fix these things.
