    thank you, Lake Superior.

    Fox could have been content with accurately pointing out the many problems of unbridled gas production.

    But instead he had to carelessly overstate his case with these claims that other federal laws exempted the industry.

    i'm not as sanguine as LakeSuperior about fracking and groundwater pollution, since I have also read about the Duke study which found evidence in Pennsylvania, in addition to Wyoming.

    The gov't needs to ride herd on these frackers and put them out of business if they can't case their wells properly.

    And the high production from fracked gas fields creates lots of air pollution that could be far better controlled.

    But LakeSuperior is dead right and Fox is wrong, that the federal clean air and water acts do have jurisdiction over fracking operations.

    The laws aren't as stringent as I'd like but the rules are there.
