  •  Strange how the TM separates children (0+ / 0-)

    from adults when reporting the number killed in accidents and natural disasters, even if the adults are barely past childhood themselves.
      When a falling tree killed the college-aged camp counselor a few days ago, the TV reports made a big deal about saying "but no children were injured" despite the fact the young woman who was killed was only a few years older than those children.
      Are children "worth" more than adults?  Would it not have been equally as sad if two adults died in the crash?  Why should less than two years from adulthood make a difference in how sad people feel for those girls killed in the plane crash?
