  •  I so agree with your statement (12+ / 0-)

Troub has been one of  the few that hasn't betrayed his liberal credentials ...

I participate in other blogs as well and nothing turns me off more than the clique mentality. It's here in spades, which leads to very uninspiring conversations.

Troub is fun, intelligent, courageous and one of the most interesting diarists here.

I don't understand the readily acceptance that we are here to be ridiculed if we all don't step in line over Snowden/Greenwald/NSA.

Are we standing in the way of an Obama is a fraud selling point and we must be crushed?

That's what it looks like to me.

      And I echo your sentiments:

I don't understand the readily acceptance that we are here to be ridiculed if we all don't step in line over Snowden/Greenwald/NSA.

        +1
        •  See, I'm not against Snowden's cause on principle (7+ / 0-)

What gets me is the rush to conclusions around here. All of this reporting, all of it, boils down to ONE EFFING SOURCE. Have we lost all sense of skepticism around here? Or cool-headed reflection? Sweet Jesus there are a lot of people ready to let the whole kit n caboodle burn on a moment's notice.

Constrast all this to the 47% tape leak. Scott Prouty had to beg people to take his big reveal seriously. People publishing diaries with the anon YouTube link were chastised here. We were skeptical to a fault.

And now we're the ones in the crosshairs here - the people that won't toe the "the-constitution-is-meaningless-and-we're-all-fucked" line, because we're either dubious about the source, or we're waiting for more evidence, or we're simply suggesting that the social conract between state protection and individual liberty is a real thing, worthy of rationale debate.

Dark days. Luckily there are other liberal blogs out there.
