      while we were involved in a prolonged war with the state of Spain.  The Nobel committee awarded it to him for his work on the conflict between Japan and Russia.

      The Nobel Peace Prize is often conferred upon whoever seems popular at the time.  I'm sure that's why President Obama got it.  There's no other explanation that makes any sense.

      Kissinger got it because the Vietnam War happened to end at the same time he was Secretary of State.  Kissinger is one of the biggest war-mongers in the history of modern warfare.
