    to a Federal investigator.  It wasn't tax evasion or insider trading they got her on.
    Now Al Capone- they got him for tax evasion.

      and, of course, not quite white enough (being of Italian extraction in an America that still saw Italian-Americans as an "other".) He'd also directly defied the Feds and mocked them on their inability to go after him on far more serious charges (i.e., murder, extortion, racketeering, etc., all of which there's little doubt he actually was responsible for.) So this isn't exactly a good comparison to the folks who say, essentially, "oops, I forgot to pay those taxes" or "I was distracted by extreme difficulties in my own life" or some other reason that has nothing to do with serious criminality. And while he was certainly a "star" of a kind, he was a star for being a criminal and defying a law that most people didn't like, despite the fact that he was also a vicious thug.
