  •  Do I understand from your photo (0+ / 0-)

of the "Ghost of Freedom" that you are advocating street violence?

I am advocating people occupying the street s and capitol buildings per their 1st amendment rights.

      Peaceful assembly.

      Standard stuff.

Cops will bring the violence. (unless we wear tricorn hats and carry large guns - then its ok).

The ghost of freedom is merely returning a tear gas canister to its rightful owner. I think they dropped it.

How is it that people can get all the wrong ideas first?

2nd Amendment rights and protections thereof as RWNJs, right?
I mean, it's "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be abridged."

It's not "the right of the white male wealthy Protestant people to keep and bear ridiculous amounts of privately owned weapons shall not be abridged, or matched by other persons."

We must use the weapons we have: our voices, our votes, our LTEs, our marching shoes, our refusal to sit back and enjoy being "powerfucked" like good little liberal sissies, our convictions, and yes, our dollars.

Not necessarily by giving those to Democrats.
Definitely by giving those to advocates of our "life, liberty, pursuit of happiness," and OUR definitions of forming a more perfect union, establishing justice, insuring domestic tranquility, providing for the common defense, promoting the general welfare, and securing the blessings of liberty to OURSELVES and OUR POSTERITY.

In other words, we need to understand that we're being expected to "lay back and enjoy it," and if we want our refusal to do so to count we'd better back it up energetically.

on "just lay back and take it".....

I am quite aware of the 2nd amendment - I am hoping you understand my reason for couching it the way I did.

Baggers can show up to healthcare debates armed to the teeth - we show up to a protest with a sign on a stick and we're peppersprayed and beaten.

So "some" seem to euqate a call for LEGAL protest as "advocating violence" - a particularly dull-witted interpretation, but shared by an unfortunate many.

We can show up and gather any goddamned time we want because ware americans.

And THAT is what it is about.

We have military people in harms way RIGHT NOW ostensibly to protect this right.

It never occurs to these crackpots that people will fight back and not just with words.  It never occured to these crackpots that many liberals are gun owners.

          As JFK once said:

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."
It's coming.  Too many "pragmatists" think they're going to win solely on the basis of "ideas".  Wrong.

By the way, love your sig line.  I lived in Texas in 12 years.  No, Texas is NO Bush legue.

While we worry about being civil and proper they're powerfucking us.  I'm with xxdr zombiexx.

I really wonder when Americans will get off their lazy asses and proactively do something about the fact that we're sliding into a corporate dominated totalitarian fascist state.  I'm not talking about standing outside a capital building and chanting 'shame, shame, shame' as our rights are being gutted inside.  As xxdr zombiexx said THEY HAVE NO SHAME.

Until these fuckers fear for their lives and livelihood they won't give a flying fuck about anyone or anything else.  They're endangering everyone else's lives and we STILL try to be civil.  I mean cmon what's it gonna take, a gun pointed at people's head and publicly held mass executions in front of the Alamo? If the people of Texas don't force these fuckers out in 2014 then frankly they deserve the government they get and they shouldn't fucking bitch when it doesn't work for them.
