  •  Well, here's this week's"Texas is pure hell" diary (0+ / 0-)

so the "Texas is a really great place to live actually" rejoinder is bound to follow soon.
Maybe what it is, the places where horrible things happen in your state isn't really anywhere near where you live or in the fields of activity you enjoy, so though it sounds like things are fucked up, when you get down to it, you still have easily accessible water, cheap gas, roads to anywhere, reliable medical services, stores crammed full of affordable (or credit-used-purchase) food and material goods, any drug you want available (admit it), lots of booze and cigarettes, unlimited electric power, all the guns you care to own, etc, etc, etc. But you worked for all that.
SO many good good things (you might even have a really good job with benefits, and a nice house, with a pretty view!) that the prospect of losing part or all of it isn't worth it, even if really bad people are really doing bad things to our government.
You really expect anybody to pledge their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for some political goal?

    •  You are blaming victims. Stop it. (0+ / 0-)

The fact that your reaction to Texas women & girls being forced into this kind of last resort is to kick them in the shins says much more about you than about Texas.

      •  Not kicking anybody except those who let this (0+ / 0-)

happen. It always amazes me when I hear Americans say "How could the regular Germans go along with everything the Nazis did?"And yet now, today, we see how all this awful shit is being passed into law, at times even sanctioned by the highest court in the land right here, right now, and say "Well, we'll fix this once things get back to normal."
Don't you think  the Germans said that?
