    But I get this eery feeling she's just more of Bloomberg's stuff (and he isn't a bad Mayor, but I wish such a blue city as NYC had a progressive mayor with more respect for privacy rights).

      Quinn would likely not govern exactly the same way as Bloomberg has, because she'd be accountable to different interest groups. Part of the issue with Bloomberg is because of his riches he doesn't have to listen to fundraisers or activists, and he's mostly governed on the interests of the business class to which he is a member. That would not be the case with Quinn, who doesn't have billions of dollars and cannot ignore the electorate quite as neatly. Not if she wants to win a primary in her life.

      However, Quinn is the sort of politician who seemingly just got into politics to get power, and has no discernible principles or red lines in the getting of it. Admittedly, that description just as accurately describes more than one member of that mayoral field...
