  •  Really? Would you feel the same in a 217-217 (0+ / 0-)

split House with this race as the deciding factor for majority status?

    •  How can we ever get better (0+ / 0-)

when the party prioritizes worse?  There are lots of races, we should be backing candidates we agree with.  Presumably there's plenty of resources to support the conservadems so they don't need my filthy stinking liberal money that's not as good as theirs anyway.

I want to see Snowden get a fair trial, an impartial jury, and the same sentence James Clapper gets for lying to Congress.

      •  What a wide detour from the question. n/t (0+ / 0-)
        •  It's a troll question (0+ / 0-)

which was itself a diversion from a previous question.

          •  Oh please. It is a question you do not want to (0+ / 0-)

answer so therefore you declare it 'troll' to avoid embarrassment.

            •  It's not a legitimate question (0+ / 0-)

it assumes that if I give my money to Candidate Smith in District 12 instead of Candidate Jones in District 10, I will be responsible for Candidate Jones losing.

This is "lesser evil" thinking taken beyond the point of absurdity to the point of aggressive hatred against any attempt to drag the party in the direction of sanity.

              •  No. It assumes that if you ignore districts you (0+ / 0-)

                will lose those districts.

And if you continue on that path you cannot hope to become a majority in the House.

                •  But how do you justify ignoring the districts that (0+ / 0-)

                  you choose to ignore?

                  •  In a 50 state strategy you don't. (0+ / 0-)

That is the source of it's success as a strategy.  Attack on all fronts.

                    •  What 50 state strategy? (0+ / 0-)

it's deader than dead. And Steve Israel would rather cut off his own hand than bring it back.  So why are you in here defending Steve Israel?

                      •  Nice effort at projection. (0+ / 0-)

And with the change in strategy also came the loss of our majority in the House.

When you find yourself in a hole the first thing to do is stop digging.

                        •  YES (0+ / 0-)

when the party went back to the DC-centric, conservadems-know-best operations model, we lost the majority.

Howard Dean OUT, Tim Kaine IN.

Why that's a justification for slitting the throats of progressive candidates and jamming conservadems down the hole, I don't understand.

                    •  I've never said (0+ / 0-)

the party should never back a conservadem.  But it pisses me off when the party infrastructure is pushing the conservadems a full year before the primaries, before the local voters have any say in the matter.

                      •  If there is a better candidate out there that will (0+ / 0-)

poll better and have a greater chance of success the party will revise its position.

The issue will be in finding that candidate. If the local voters coalesce around one between now and primary time there is certainly time enough for the party to revise its decision.
