    Those nominees were an almost insignificant part of the 400 filibusters the Repugs have done.  If the Dems aren't willing to use this threat on policy issues and judicial appointments, than the Repugs have bought time until they get control of the Senate.

      There is a lot of hyperbole on the site today from the front pagers that the filibuster is effectively dead.
      I just don't see it.
      It is certainly in place for judicial nominees. Apparently the Dems. didn't consider the gaping holes in the judiciary to be important enough to add them to the bargain, and of course the Republicans noticed this.
      It's certainly still in place for legislation, and when the next piece of legislation dies in a 57-43 vote, that will be made clear.
      This was a small win for Harry Reid and the Democrats, but that's all.
