  •  Now you've got me thinking pizza (13+ / 0-)

for tomorrow; Mr. Scribe is taking his brother out to dinner after they take their mom to the doctor (Take 2 on last week's visit where we all forgot her short transfer board and without me there for jammed fingers) so I'm on my lonesome. Think I've got enough cash for Pizza Hut; I can get a small pizza for dinner and an order of chicken wings for Thursday's lunch and that hits the delivery minimum. Or I could check Amici's and see what I can get there -- it's a local chain of Italian restaurants that have good New York style pizzas. Or maybe even Pizza Chicago for deep dish. Pizza Chicago has some really interesting ones, like the Joliet Jake (with four different types of mushrooms, dried apricots on request).

Pizza toppings? I've got several. Big fan of the classic Hawaiian, ham and pineapple (sorry K2!), or for a switch pepperoni and pineapple; the pineapple makes a sweet accompaniment to the spicy pepperoni. Oddly, I don't like olives by themselves, but I love them on pizza, so sausage, mushrooms and olives are another favorite, sometimes with extra garlic. I like pretty much any kind of crust. The only thing I don't like is sliced or chunky tomatoes; I'm allergic to raw tomatoes and not that crazy about cooked ones at any rate, so I prefer a nice smooth sauce to anything chunky. Oh, and I don't like onions so you'll find me and Chrislove in the corner with our pie. :-)
