    here are BOYCOTTS.

People keep comparing Florida to Arizona in that regard. I got news for them--Jan Brewer is a Teahag too, but she doesn't know the first thing about being a 'grifter'. If she's anything, she's a "useful idiot".

Rick Scott is a bona-fide felon. He's been downright dangerous for this state, in too many ways to count. Our own citizens are finding it very, very difficult to fight back, although--and this is key--we continue to do so.

So when we need the help the most--because we're just not enough to take down this grifter, this felon and his lock on our government--what does the rest of the country do? Well, they're all divided by fear. I get that, but what they fail to understand is that this ain't Arizona. "Civic leaders" aren't going to convince the Scott Administration that his shit-ALEC-written "gun law" has to change because of tourism boycotts. He's a sociopath. He doesn't give a damn! He wants this state to tank economically. When it does, and people die off or move out, the oil companies can fucking have a field day, finishing it off and making it fully uninhabitable.

"We voted for him"?? I still can't find anyone who will admit it. The guy is such a goddamn crook, he probably stole the governor's mansion, too...

This all started with "what the Republicans did to language".

perch in NYC, and I defer to your knowledge.  I forgot to add that he is a felon!

I put the most egregious assholes into my novel, leaving out the uninteresting GOPers and the lower-tier, less dangerous assholes.  Thus, voila:

"...‘Iraq was a vast untapped market.  So we stuck a tap in it.  It’s an artificial marketplace that we set up, to accomplish our goals…whatever those goals were.  Anytime there are some people making money from something, I think it is more than fair to ask questions, like why are they making scads of money from their own policy decisions.  We would be fools not to ask questions, right?  This isn’t a dictatorship; it’s our responsibility to question.  We’d be negligent if we didn’t.  Hell, they’d ask me questions relentlessly – on a stool under bright lights - if I was the one that had pocketed that money.  You’d be looking at my face through steel bars.  And to make it even worse, if you questioned their decisions back then, or god forbid, their motives, you were immediately labeled treasonous; un-American!  I mean, look at the Arizona immigration laws.  They can explain all they want about why they need these new laws, and what effect they’ll have on people’s lives…but the one question they need to answer is why those same people that passed the laws are heavily invested in the private prison industry.  Are they proposing solutions to problems, or are they posing moneymaking solutions in search of application?  …In search of legality?
We are just supposed to blindly trust a politician who votes to make tons of money for himself?  And the same deal with wanting to drug test the unemployed and people on welfare.  The guys who vote that in are the same guys who own the drug testing labs.  The worst example of all is the grifter who was elected governor of Florida.  Rick Scott perpetrates the biggest medical fraud in the history of our country, and now he’s regarded as a great businessman?  He signs over lucrative ownership of the drug labs to his wife, and then proceeds to force the unemployed to get tested.  Instant windfall for him!’  Fuck them all..."

(my protagonist seems to speak like I do....go figure...)
