    environmental disasters and spills, like the Mayflower, AK and the BP blowout in the gulf, is a standard operating procedure for controlling, directing and managing air navigation in the United States....and is done for safety purposes.

    That this is the case has been explained more than once on this site by Daily Kos pilot-participant, Otteray Scribe.

    There is no basis for conspiracy theories in any of these air navigation controls, which are part of disaster implementation procedures.

      I don't do conspiracy theories, but question the "security purposes" rationale. Air traffic congestion? Possibility of explosions? Damaging to the corporations' credibility and PR?

      Whatever, we must always be kept afraid. If we weren't we might actually use our brains to think!
