    with the usual claims here at DailyKos that the bitumen is highly resistant to flowing at all - let alone in a "blow-out" type way.

    But it's nice to hear both sides of the story on occasion.

      It is pretty close to solid at normal temps.  It flows at high temps, hence the high-pressure, high-temp steam process.
