    Some Dems do that, yes. Many politicians do.  But the accompanying obstructionism by the GOP is what makes their "positions" more than merely politically expedient and IMHO a lot more striking.

        And in my opinion the behavior of the Dems and the GOP are not comparable in this matter (e.g. obstructionism), which is why I used the phrase "false equivalency."

        I would be interested to know why you think they are equivalent.
