    This was the Elected Clerk.  The Imperial County clerk was, I believe, a clerk under the Elected Clerk (the Elected Clerk declined to join the suit).  So this is a difference, and a step up, in the enforcement.  Totally unsuprising.

    Minority rights should never be subject to majority vote.

      now and has chosen not to do so. I suspect the county, which is very poor by the way, has decided it doesn't wish to get caught up in the controversy, which essentially means it accepts the state's position even if it may not like it.
