  •  Except fundraising on the backs of our heroes. (7+ / 0-)

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin as an organization has ignored the Solidarity Sing Along for lo these two and a half years.  But yesterday afternoon a fundraising message from the DPW showed up via e-mail, with the unbelievable subject line "solidarity," expressing a faux outrage they've never expressed before, even though the permitting rules were changed to target the Sing Along in Dec. 2011, and citations started flowing in 2012 when Chief Erwin was put in charge of the Capitol Police.  On the basis of this new-found "solidarity," we're supposed to "add your name to the list of Wisconsinites standing with the Solidarity Singers today" and then dig deep and donate.

wrote it up in a diary, but then merely felt exhausted and said to myself, "who cares?" They have such tin ears that they would merely ignore the critique.

That e-mail just reminded me of the times their now-fired communications director would sneer about activists. They don't like people acting on their own.

    •  I unsubscribed from their e-mails (5+ / 0-)

several months ago because I felt as though they were ONLY interested in using Democratic voters as ATMs.  I mean, Mike Tate?  When was the last time (or even the FIRST time) Mike Tate, the Chair of the DPW, showed up to actually SHOW solidarity?!  At least he hasn't dropped one of his ridiculous diaries here on DK lately and then disappeared as he has done in the past.
