  •  I believe that many people stick with Walker (10+ / 0-)

    and other dreadful GOP leaders because the President is black.  They'll support anyone, and suffer any punishment as long as "their" leader is sticking it to the President and the people who voted him into office.  That racism has been carefully tended, fed and watered by the GOP as a way to distract voters while they robbed them blind, destroyed their jobs and their kids' education, their health and women's rights, their voting rights and their parents' security in old age.

    In states like NC, OH, WI, PA, FL, MI it is more horrifying and heartbreaking to see it happen, because these are purple states, and it's clear these egregious actions by the GOP legislatures--often passed in sneaky, underhanded ways--do not reflect the will of a great number of their constituents.

    It's an object lesson: local and statewide elections are crucial, and non-presidential year elections must be overwhelmed by Democratic voters.
