    I agree with the Times
    that mobilizing (pissing off) the people who usually don't vote will likely outweigh the suppression of voters. I think what we are witnessing is the last dirty stand of the GOP in NC. Like in CA at the time, NC will turn blue. Lets make sure that this happens!

      All of this is happening after the Republicans won the State House popular vote by a mere 51%-49%.   That's how badly gerrymandered we are's estimated that we need close to 60% of the vote to win a majority of seats.   Sigh.

      We're gonna fight. Hard.   But in reality we're looking at a hopeful scenario that consists of surviving four years of this and winning back the governorship (and veto pen) in 2016 and then having an Obama-Boehner type stalemate until redistricting in 2020.   Not a pretty thought.
