    ... when a train reached the first station in a Jim Crow state, blacks were forced to board "Jim Crow" cars - usually old combination baggage/coach cars with wooden seats and no air conditioning.

    I vote we run Rick Scott out of Florida on a high-speed rail.

      Blacks were too scary to sit beside, go to school with or eat with, but they were perfectly fit to cook your food and care for you babies. When I was about 10 my parents put me on the train with my little sister, tipped the conductor, and sent us on an overnight trip several states away. In the care of - OMG - a scary Black man! Even at the time I realized it wasn't rational.
