that some of the neocons began with critiques of the Great Society.  Some of them were the '30s City College Trotskyites like Kristol and Podhoretz who went right in the '60s and '70s partly in reaction to the anti-war protests, but also against what they viewed as liberal overreach.  But the anti-anti-Vietnam war sentiment had a lot to do with the birth of the neocons.

But he's full of crap on several levels, including that they ever were New Deal promoters, and that by the '80s their stress was still domestic policy.

    •  The biggest neocon domestic policy was... (5+ / 0-)

      "Kill unions."

Ronnie made sure to get the ball rolling with PATCO.

Calling other DKos members "weenies" is a personal insult and therefore against site rules.

starting with tuition at the UC's...for which he mocked me to my face for my pitiful little picket sign.

I was too nice and understanding and wimpy to belt him with it, if I had I'd be out by now.

I was also shocked by seeing a grown manly man like Reagan wearing rouge, a lot of rouge, on a hot day...or any other day. I was young..

        This machine kills Fascists.
