  •  Fortunately, we still have some sensible courts (5+ / 0-)

Most of the radical abortion bills have been struck down by judges, and just the other day an Oklahoma judge struck down that state's ridiculous anti-Sharia law.
A Pennsylvania judge just blocked their extreme voter ID law. Texas had their photo ID law blocked by a panel of judges that included a majority of Republicans.
And how about that 92 year old woman suing the state of North Carolina over their voter ID law?
That doesn't mean we ever stop fighting, but continue to expose these state ALEC legislatures as the idiots they are.

Once your narrative is warped enough, you can make everything fit it. They've had lots of practice trying to make fossils and archaeology match the Biblical account of how old the earth is and how humans developed.

I live in Kansas, and when the extreme anti-abortion bill was struck down  as unconstitutional, anti-choice groups tried to get a couple of the judges removed from the state Supreme Court.
Now Brownback wants to be able to choose the judges on the KSC, rather than have a committee choose them. And he wants the selection process to be private. His idea of government is one bought and paid for by the Koch brothers, that rubber stamps his extreme agenda (unfortunately, that's exactly what he got in 2012).

If we give up they win.  If we fight hard they lose.  It's up to us.  Wendy Davis COULD be the next governor of Texas if every Democrat in Texas gets moving.  The winds of change are strong here because we're off our "it's hopeless" asses.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.
