  •  Well I am a fan of the President. When did it (9+ / 0-)

become politically correct on a Democratic site to "deny" the President.  I think its weird.  Someone can comment on the topic without always having to declare their ambivalence.

    •  This form of political correctness is like (16+ / 0-)

the conformity imposed by and on the gray flannel suits in the 50's.  The commenter was not "denying" the president, but defending his actions despite disagreements with him on other matters.

Patriotism may be the last refuge of scoundrels, but religion is assuredly the first.

      •  Not all authoritarians are on the Right ... (3+ / 0-)

The very term "Politically Correct" comes from the Old Old Left  where it was a term of approval for that which was not  factually, logically, or morally "right" -- but nonetheless did conform to the ideological parameters laid out by The Party ...

The term UN-PC is quite new.   Back when rocks were soft and Trotsky-ISTs (gaddamit!) roamed the Earth  the antonym of PC was "Deviationalist."

And don't even get me started on the Unreconstructed Stalinists ...  I had a couple of United Front great uncles who WERE.

Compared to them, the Grey Flannel MadAve crowd were anarcho-individualists.

But Godbless His Excellency,  Our Noble President, anyway !

God save the noble Tsar! President
Long may he live, in pow’r,
        In happiness,
        In peace to reign!
        Dread of his enemies,
        Faith’s sure defender,
        God save the Tsar! President

and I am with him on this matter.

I don't figure I need to go into what I disagree with him on (education, mostly), because who do you agree with ALL the time? Nobody!

    •  I happen not to be a fan of the President, (12+ / 0-)

mostly on account of various, shall we say, less-than-progressive actions he has undertaken.

Having said that, I consider the level of Republican obstructionism-for-the-sake-of-obstructionism to be ridiculous, cycnical and just on this side of treason, and the media's consistent refusal to note it to be their biggest fail since their fawning coverage of BushCo's lies to declare war on Iraq in 2003.

If they (congressional Republicans) have specific objections to policies proposed or enacted by the President, let them voice them. If they have specific objections to specific nominees advanced by the President, let them voice them.

I don't support President Obama's corporate-lite policies. I don't support his wanton defense and extension of the security state. But for all of that, he was clearly the better of the two major-party candidates, and as such I advocated for his re-election last year.

As for your inane comment about "political correctness", my disappointment with President Obama has its origin elsewhere than the "rox/sux" debate. Believe it or not, I came up with my distaste for his policies all on my own.
