    If you check my comments from yesterday, you'll see that the only reason I doubted he was carrying anything is that it would be so dumb to do that as if you weren't going to be stopped, given the circumstances. I can't believe someone who's been harassed, detained, and had her property confiscated for 7 years would take such a dumb-obvious risk--this is the same person who engaged in complex encryption so that Snowden could get in touch with her in the first place?

    If this wasn't intentional, it was an amazingly dumb mistake.

    But pretending that somehow Miranda was guilty of something because he was carrying documents in a laptop is lame. Pretending further that anybody on the other side was upset about this detention because they believed Miranda didn't have documents misses the point so completely that clearly the people who hold this position didn't believe in a free press to begin with.

    Like this guy says, the people who don't get it are probably the people who weren't supposed to get it.
