  •  We'd better go soon (7+ / 0-)

since we're not getting any younger or spryer. ;)

Having to rush a museum never seems to work. I usually have to decide which parts I've gotta see and which parts I'll have to miss.

I could definitely be happy sitting outside a café and watching people.

    •  Don't Miss the l'Orangerie Where Monet's (6+ / 0-)

Water Lilies murals and remarkable early Picasso works are hung.  FOllow up your visit with a day trip to Monet's home and gardens in Giverney, take an overnight on the road, and on you way home include an excursion to Château de Chantilly, a remarkable chateau filled with equally remarkable small and miniature paintings that constitute the Musée Condé (second only to the Louvre in its historical paintings collection).

[I had no idea until I Googled the Château just now that it was used as a setting in one of the old James Bond movies, A View to a Kill]l

      Even more famously. . .

Madame de Sévigné relates in her memoirs that when Louis XIV visited in 1671, François Vatel, the maître d'hôtel to the Grand Condé, committed suicide when he feared the fish would be served late.  Wikipedia
