  •  Crowley: Govt not torturing Manning (0+ / 0-)

Your comment begs the question of whether Manning was tortured to begin with, and I see that you keep citing PJ Crowley, well that's the dumbest thing you could do if you're trying to push the "Obama approved torture of Manning" meme.

Crowley never said Manning was being tortured; he said the exact opposite.  Let me refer you to his own written piece in The Guardian:

Earlier this month, I was asked by an MIT graduate student why the United States government was "torturing" Private First Class Bradley Manning, who is accused of being the source of the WikiLeaks cables that have been reported by the Guardian and other news outlets and posted online. The fact is the government is doing no such thing.
    Sorry to destroy your narrative.
    •  Yes, what Crowley said by way of criticizing (0+ / 0-)

what the Obama administration was doing to Manning was rather mild.  But nevertheless it was enough to cause his firing.

Crowley may not have believed what was done to Manning was torture, or at least have said that he did not.  But that does not mean it was not torture.

The influence of the [executive] has increased, is increasing, and ought to be diminished.
