  •  PJ Crowley: Manning not tortured (1+ / 0-)

It's interesting that the diarist trashes the President because PJ Crowley said that Manning's treatment was "ridiculous, counterproductive and stupid", and then the diarist in the same paragraph brings the word "torture" into it, inviting the reader to imagine that Crowley would go along with that characterization.  Since the diarist has such respect for PJ Crowley, why don't we ask PJ Crowley himself if Manning was "tortured":

Earlier this month, I was asked by an MIT graduate student why the United States government was "torturing" Private First Class Bradley Manning, who is accused of being the source of the WikiLeaks cables that have been reported by the Guardian and other news outlets and posted online. The fact is the government is doing no such thing.
Oops.  So what now, is Crowley a liar? Kind of hard to go there after you cited his opinion in your desire to trash the President.  Maybe next time you'll bother to do some basic research on what someone said in total on a particular matter before using him in an appeal to authority argument.

Of course, the main problem with this diary is that its very premise begs the question the question of whether the President had goal to "break Manning's spirit" in the first place.  But I guess since the diarist is only intent on preaching to the choir, he sees nothing wrong with begging questions right and left.
