I find it strange that this line-item news on Chelsea's announcement and the poll from earlier are apparently the only front-paged news on Manning's sentence that have been posted. Unless I missed it, there was no front-page article when the sentence was announced -- 35 years for exposing the truth. Interestingly enough, on the same day that the U.S. asked for immunity for George W. Bush for the Iraq War.

I find it pretty shocking that a person who exposed soldiers murdering civilians in Iraq (for which no one has gone to prison) and U.S. support for dictators in Tunisia and Egypt (for which no one has gone to prison), directly influencing the Arab Spring, was given a sentence longer than rapists and murderers and it didn't generate a two-paragraph front-page article.

I know some folks might have different views over Manning's actions, so fine, frame it as a debate on whether she had a positive or negative influence on our country -- but it seems downright strange that such a groundbreaking event didn't warrant anything at all.

    I'm just a little surprised.
