  •  I agree, except... (6+ / 0-)

If the red rubber nose brigade is running the impeachment show, they'll be impeaching him because ACORN or Planned Parenthood or Jesus-less Christmas Cards or something, and that won't do jack shit as far as 'restoring the rule of law' goes.

If Darrell Issa showed the least bit of interest in the actual violations and abuses of our justice, security, and defense apparratti, I'd be very nearly enthusiastic.  Unfortunately, that's...  About as realistic as the prospect of actual justice upon the banking industry.

    •  So make it a coalition impeachment... (0+ / 0-)

...some of their beefs, and some of ours.  They can go on about birth certificates, and we can talk about spying and war crimes.   At least that way some of the time would be devoted to our issues.  The Republicans became a coalition party of various groups that had nothing in common in almost the same way- fiscal conservatives and religious conservatives and libertarian-types, etc all got together even though they weren't eye-to-eye on everything, and it's worked decently well for them for many years.

To express the depth of revulsion you cause in me.

You appear to have no concept of what kind of craven opportunists you'd happily throw in with because you don't think you're getting your way.   "Useful idiot" is a kindness to you.

        •  What are you talking about??? (0+ / 0-)

"My way?"  It's the AMERICAN way!  I haven't called you any names, so I don't know what your problem is.  I'm talking about us regaining rights and freedoms by showing that we're not going to put up with this kind of governance for any reason.  People of all kinds are ready for this nightmare to be over.  We need a functioning government, and that's not going to be obtained by half the country calling the other half names and ignoring what they have to say.  If they're misinformed, it's not even necessarily their fault-- it's because our media is owned by the same corrupt plutocrats who run our government and fill it with stupid cr*p night and day.  Our news media is another thing that should never have been surrendered to corporate corruption, and our investigative journalists shouldn't be consigned to legal harassment and jail, either.  I'm sorry if you're revolted by the idea of taking a stand to try to fix what's wrong with this country, but you should know I'm equally revolted with the status quo, and so are many others.

      •  I dont think that'd be productive... (4+ / 0-)

Part of the reason our system is so dysfunctional now is because it was badly abused during the Clinton years.  Legitimatizing Glenn Beck's chalkboard would be entirely counterproductive.  Contra slippytoad, I don't think that 'working with the enemy' is automatically bad, but I do think that legitimatizing their beliefs in this case would further the wrong that impeachment could seek to right.

      •  No. (0+ / 0-)

Beefs are not relevant. Only high crimes and misdemeanors.

And Clinton's dalliances and any lying therefrom don't count.

        Innuendo doesn't count either.

when the liberals in the UK threw in with the conservatives to form a government.  This is a terrible idea.

Be bold. Be courageous. Americans are counting on you. Gabby Giffords.

for primarying Richard Lugar has been in Indiana news all week. As they start to understand the problems in Syria, the media and local and state politicians of both parties are bemoaning the last remaining thinking senator who had international stature and respect from other nations is no longer in Washington. Conservatives certainly hurt US standing in the world with their dumb move.
