  •  There's one way he'll be silenced (0+ / 0-)

And he'll be the one to do it: he'll slander a private individual just like he slandered Sandra Fluke, & he'll be sued--& lose.

I figure Fluke didn't sue him for slander because her situation was marginal--Limbaugh could argue she was a public figure because she appeared at a Congressional hearing, & finally he has more legal resources than she had.

But Limbaugh is enough of a narcissist that he'll open his mouth & insult someone just as savagely as Fluke. And although he has hundreds of millions he could use to defend himself, I bet most of it is not liquid & he'd need help to afford a decent legal defense--but at that point Limbaugh might find himself unable to raise the cash.

Here's hoping he ends his days in an SRO sharing a hot plate with the kind of people he made his living insulting, who ask him how life is being a taker from society.

Your comment is filled with wild speculation

      1. That Limbaugh will slander a private citizen who will sue him.

Why would Limbaugh even talk about someone who was not a public figure on his show in a manner that would make him liable for damages?

      2. That Limbaugh's fortune of several hundred million is so illiquid that he couldn't afford to defend himself in a lawsuit?

I would make the assumption that Limbaugh's investment portfolio is well managed by professionals and is primarily in liquid investments such as muni bonds and stocks as well as cash held as dollars, Euros, and other major currencies. Why would you think that Limbaugh's portfolio would be different than most other wealthy investors?

The notion that he won't be able to afford a first rate legal defense is just complete nonsense. When he had his issues with prescription drugs he retained the best criminal defense lawyer in Florida, Roy Black and took the case all the way to the Florida Supreme Court, and won.

      3. Limbaugh will die poor? He has too much money to die poor. For what he could just sell his Palm Beach estate he could live in luxury the rest of his life.

      •  It might be wild speculation (0+ / 0-)

But from everything I've seen about Limbaugh, he's capable of getting himself into trouble--maybe big trouble--with no help from anyone else.

If he spent 3 days ranting about Fluke, insulting her & besmirching her reputation, then it's entirely plausible that he does this again but for someone who could sue for defamation. He still thinks he can get away with it.

        •  I think the loss of revenue, as a fallout from (0+ / 0-)

the Fluke ranting, has gotten his attention. It was a first in his long career, but I think he will be more cautious in the future.
