  •  I refuse to go to Walgreens. (17+ / 0-)

They advertise a sale price.  I pick up the item.  I take it to the cashier.  They tell me the amount due is the full price unless I use "their card".  In order to get their card, I have to give them certain information.  I refused to do it.  They refused to give me the sales price they advertised, cuz they're holding their sales price as hostage unless I turn over my personal information.

I left without the item, went a couple blocks down the street and got an even better price at Target.

I have the same problem as you at Bath & Body Works.  What's your email and we'll send you coupons.  But I don't want you coupons.  OK what's your address.  I don't want you to have my address.  And then the look at me like I'm just being "difficult".

No, I just don't think my personal information is any of your business.

receipt sent to our email address. Most of the cashers catch the sarcasm in my simple "no thanks" reply.

    •  Oh yeah, Target doesn't do that! (7+ / 0-)

Thanks for reminding me.   I like Target although they have misprices sometimes, gee, always in their favor, but it's better than Walmart, by a long shot.

The worst is rite aid.  I bought hair clips there, they are plastic and break over time, and they charged so much!!  But I was in a hurry.  So I got this "coupon" that says come back in a couple days to get like, IDK, $4 back or something.  So I'm like OK, I gotta do it, and then I forgot.   And it expires.  It's such a racket, a mockery to employees and the rest of us struggling in life with our responsibilities.

I mean, they extort, I mean overcharge money from you and you have to go get it back in a specific and short period of time...and then you have to smile like you're the lucky one and they are god

Why do we Americans just accept everything.   People can pretty much do anything to us and we'll be like, hey that's OK.  In fact, most people don't even pay attention

credit card, which is the one I actually want because
I do like to shop there compared to other places.  Because
actually, oh yeah, you get those points if you keep shopping there.  Well again, I guess it's a hidden cost if you don't use their card as well.
But I do like Target better than the others for some reason.
