  •  You have to be SO careful (4+ / 0-)

putting stuff IN mailboxes, unfortunately.  If it is still stormy, a piece of tape to secure it in place should do the trick.

    •  Agreed - but the good thing is that it is (5+ / 0-)

Sunday and a lot of people are probably around their houses.  I was waiving at people when I was looking for my cat and talking to neighbors as I wandered the neighborhood with fliers.

Here's the kicker - she was in a house on the back side of my block for about 36 hours just a day after she went missing before the people who had taken her in let her out because the guy was worried that she might have feline leukemia and might infect his cat - he called to tell me that after he saw one of my fliers - and it took everything I could muster not to get angry and explain that if he was worried that a cat had feline leukemia, he should have called animal control to take the cat rather than having the rest of the neighborhood be exposed to it, too.  Six weeks later they found her miles away near Benning Road.  She started out in NW on the other side of the park.  She was 20-years old.

Anyway, I wish that I had been a bit more aggressive that first day she was missing and had done a better job of canvassing my neighborhood.  :)
