yeah....the Democratic Party platform is almost always inspiring.

Democrats increasing pell grant and state equivalent funding in 2007 saved me thousands in debt. They raised the minimum wage, passed the ACA and in the state passed a program to cover almost all children. In the state they passed anti-discrimination laws, funding for green energy projects, have done their best to protect education funding, etc.

...better the occasional faults of a government that lives in a spirit of charity, than the consistent omissions of a government frozen in the ice of its own indifference. -FDR, 1936

The recession was ended, the housing market is recovering, the deficit decreasing.

We know that Democrats are good for America, yet in the last mid-terms we managed to cede State Houses all over the country.

I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
but I fear we will remain Democrats.

but it has not ended for millions of people.  And many of those who got new jobs are now in jobs that pay less with fewer benefits.  The housing market is perhaps recovering, or perhaps that recovery is an artificial creation of low interest rates and speculators buying up foreclosed properties.

As for the deficit decreasing, I frankly could care less; I think that's a right wing red herring to which we should give no credence as the deficit is the justification for our current slash and burn economies policies known as sequestration and deficit reduction.

So I would suspect that a lot of people have not seen that Democrats are good for America; unfortunately, they also haven't seen that Republicans are even worse for America.
