They're not going to buy this propaganda.  That's another reason the NSA resonates with me.  I'm fed up with secret back room deals by dodgy gangs and commissions with everything behind the curtain and the politician fronting for it all with a big phony smile and a few spin words.

'Grand Bargain' happens and includes social security changes...nothing will affect current recipients.

CCPI impacts ALL Social Security recipients not just future retirees.  If you read the President's own web site, he is very clever with his language.  He won't change the BASIC benefit for current seniors and he withdraws even support for the BASIC benefits for future retirees.

The President's proposed budget right this very minute cuts the COLA and that impacts all seniors.  You don't even have to get to the Grand Bargain.  It's in his budget.

You can spin this.  But seniors understand this far better than the younger people who aren't currently receiving benefits.  People really hate it when you try to trick them.

If you go knock on a senior's door and tell them that Obama has no plans to cut their Social Security you are flat out lying.

(btw, IIRC stands for If I Recall Correctly) from writers saying the COLA would not increase at the same rate if whatever proposal was made then, passed (it didn't). I couldn't find anything directly from the proposed budget. So, if you're referring to the COLA going up still but at least of an increase each year, then you seem to be correct and I was not.
